The Departments research in organizational communication includes both internal and external communications. It also includes both dimensions of strategic communication and studies in how communication maintains and develops organizations, and in the roll of communication in the interactions between organizations.
At IMV we research the use of ICT-based communications as part of individual and organizational learning processes. The research in organizations communication and organization in conjunction with the challenges of the various, typically new, media means for the organizational self-organization. This for example takes the form of studies in crisis communication and organizational culture. The research also includes more general studies of the Internet's social and cultural significance with implications for organizations.
